Movie Review
There are plenty of new movies coming out in 1937, and from what I have seen there is certainly no shortage of enjoyable movies. One movie that I would recommend, especially for families and younger children, is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was given 7.7 out of 10 stars. This movie is about an evil queen who seeks to be the most beautiful in the land. When she finds out that the princess, Snow White, has grown to be more beautiful than her, she is enraged. Snow White, in an attempt to evade the queen’s wrath, hides in a small house in the woods that we later find out belongs to seven dwarfs. She quickly befriends all of them, and it seems as if Snow White is out of harm’s way until the queen, disguised as an old woman, feeds her a poisonous apple which puts Snow White into a coma, which she is only woken from by the kiss of a prince from a nearby kingdom.
Another must watch movie is La Grande Illusion. This movie received 8.2 out f 10 stars. Set in World War 1, it is a story of how two French soldiers are imprisoned in a P.O.W. Camp. After attempting to escape multiple times, they are sent to an impenetrable fortress that is nearly impossible to escape from. Anyone who wants a movie that will keep them on the edge of their seats will definitely love this action packed thriller.
Captains Courageous is another must see, receiving 8 out of 10 stars. After a spoiled boy goes overboard, he is picked up by a fishing boat heading out for the season. He has to grow up fast as he starts to work for the first time in his life. Along the way, he creates the most meaningful friendships he’s ever had. This movie follows him on his journey from a boy to a man. I would recommend this movie for anyone who is looking for a story about growing up.
